Parent and Child Program

Fernwood School's Parent and Child program provides a warm environment for children ages 6 weeks to 3 1/2 years. Embraced by loving adults, the youngest ones can safely explore the beauty that surrounds them while planting the seeds of imagination, creativity, and confidence.

The Parent and Child Program is led by Ms. Michelle, a revered and highly sought after educator in the Portland area. The first session of the school year begins in the Fall and rolls out throughout the school year. Ms. Michelle's goal is to give parents and caregivers the opportunity to meet the other parents and caregivers of young children; learn about early childhood development; engage in a Waldorf approach; and build a community of support for the child's expanding world in an unhurried environment where wonder and delight are nurtured. This weekly class will offer every child healthy social interactions with both peers and parents. Every class will include creative play, cooking, circle time, movement, sharing, education and outdoor time.
